Baron François had brought bad news with him on what I thought was a standard visit.

The King wanted someone to lead retaliatory raids into Attid, striking at military targets. The Baron was his go to person for unusual requests and it appeared I was now the Baron’s go to person.
Thick woodland stretched along the border, the occasional road now heavily guarded on this side. Slipping across the border was easy, an indication of the difficulty the King had in stopping the cross border raids.

My first task was to split my force, sending Treddian and his squad south. Leading my group, I headed north.

In the first major action, my group sacking a large military compound, freeing hundreds of slaves in the process. These however can’t move fast and in desperation, I split my force. This allows me to set a trap, during the resulting battle with the forces sent to follow us, their force is decimated. Losses on my side are not insignificant.

Recovering back in Kirkluk, it is discovered that the materials captured in Attid, include a massive haul of gold and jewellery, which leads to a two week trip to the nearest large town to dispose of it.

Returning to Attid, my Guild is nowhere near as successful. The local Commander has set a trap and having walked into it he takes great pleasure in explaining how gifting his King a present of my head on a silver platter, will further his career.

With no options left, I lead the charge into battle.
